Our Coptic Cairo day tour starts in the morning. We will take you and introduce you to a very well-informed tour guide. Your personal guide will take you to Old Cairo, which is full of interesting Coptic monuments.
The Hanging Church
The Hanging Church, whose other name is "Suspended Church," is considered such because it is located "on top of the southern gate of the Roman fortress."This one in Old Cairo is special, with one of the most popular aspects being designed in the image of Noah's Ark. The Coptic Patriarch stayed there from the 7th to the 13th century.
Ben Ezra Synagogue
Ben Ezra Synagogue is one of the unique tourist places of the 19th century in Egypt. The building served as a church until it was converted to a synagogue in 870 AD. The synagogue is represented as a historic site in Dewsbury and has Jewish symbols embedded on the walls.
Lunch Time
Then, we will go to a lovely nearby restaurant to eat mouth-watering food. After that, the remaining part of your day tour will continue.
Abu Serga Church
Located in the ancient quarter of Coptic Cairo, this church is believed, according to tradition, to have been used as a shelter for the Holy Family of Jesus Christ, Mary, and Joseph during their hiding in Egypt, running from the persecuting King Herod. It was one of the bishops' headquarters of the Coptic Church of Alexandria.
Virgin Mary Church
The church of the Virgin Mary is Coptic and is located near Haret Zuweila. It was established in the 10th century, and parts of it may be from the 12th century. Some sources show that it was the time of the New Cairo Bishop's consecration. Abu Qurqas is a diocese of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria and the last two Nag Khammou Catholic bishops in the East.
Lastly, we will take you back to your hotel after the tour.
