Egypt’s Splendor

Enjoy guided excursions with professional Egyptologist Guides followed by delightful leisure activities. You will experience much of Egypt’s history.  Visit the Giza Pyramids, and Valley of the Kings, and other famous sites along the Nile. After your visit in Aswan you will take a short train ride to Luxor, overnight at a Hotel situated along the Nile. 

Day 1: Arrival Cairo

In and around Cairo
Arrive Cairo airport, welcome greeting by our representative who will assist you and provide transfers to your Hotel in Cairo. Settle in for the night to relax and enjoy the views of Cairo at night.

Day 2: Cairo – Giza Pyramids – Guardian Sphinx – Egyptian Museum of Antiquities

In and around Giza
After breakfast- Depart for a full day guided tour of Giza and Cairo. Here, see the world-famous pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycrenuis and their guardian Sphinx; these are amongst the most impressive man-made spectacles in the world. Visit the Egyptian Museum to learn about the more than 4000-year-old Egyptian civilisation. And see the treasures of Tutankhamen. In the evening you will be transferred to airport for a domestic flight to Luxor. Once in Luxor you will be transferred to the overnight hotel. Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 3: Saqqara Complex- Step Pyramid- Memphis

Today we set out from Cairo and tour Memphis, the first Capital of Egypt, Khufu Boat Museum and then on to Saqqara and the Step Pyramid built by Djoser. We stop for Lunch in a local restaurant. Then back to hotel.

Day 4: Port of Alexandria- library- Qaitbay Citadel

Today we will head out of Cairo by land through the desert to the famous city of Alexandria.  Its known for its most famous resident Cleopatra and named for Alexander the Great.  Alexandria is also known as one of the most important defensive strongholds, not just for Egypt, but along the Mediterranean Coastline. Enjoy a lunch overlooking the Port of Alexandria. Then we take you to tour the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Fort Qaitbey, a Unesco World Heritage site, with its views of the Eastern Harbour.

Day 5: Alexandria

Today we will take a leisurely start to the day, starting with a visit to the Catacombs of Kom ash-Shuqqafa, the largest Roman burial site in the Country. We then make our way out to the Roman Amphitheatre with its views into the past and with recent excavations unearthing a Ptolemaic-era temple. There may be new artifacts to see. We will lunch at a local café. Then back to relax at the Hotel.

Day 6: Alexandria

Today, weather permitting, will be beach day, we’ll be heading to Sidi Abdel Rahmn, with its white sand beach and turquoise waters.  We’ll pack a picnic lunch and relaxation is the theme for the day, before heading back to Cairo tomorrow.

Day 7: Alexandria -Cairo

After a nice breakfast we make our way back to Cairo and we’ll fly to Luxor in the afternoon. Arriving in Luxor to overnight at a lovely hotel situated along the Nile.

Day 8: Nile Cruise Tours – Luxor & Karnak Temples

Stay in Luxor
Enjoy a nice breakfast and a Mid day check-in on board a Nile cruise ship.  You will then visit the worlds’ largest temple complex, Karnak Temple to see the Temple of Amun and the Temple of Luxor. See its courtyard and the granite statues of Ramses II.  The tour then proceeds by bus to visit the biggest Temple in Egypt Karnak Temple. This temple was built by various Pharaoh’s during different dynasties.  Highlights are, the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmosis, the temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs.  See the Granite Scarabaeus of Amenophis III and the Sacred Lake.

Day 9: Nile Cruise Tours – Valley of the Kings – Queen Hatshepsut – Edfu

Stay in Edfu
Visit the West Bank of the Nile where you will see the Valley of the Kings with its amazing tombs and chambers.  Visit the amazing Temple of Queen Hatshepsut widely considered one of the “incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt” located beneath the cliffs at Deir el Bahira. See the Colossi of Memnon with the two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.  Then set sail to Edfu while you enjoy a leisurely dinner on board.

Day 10: Nile Cruise Tours – Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan

Stay in Kom Ombo
Visit the Edfu Temple; one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt dedicated to the falcon god Horus.  Enjoy a relaxing lunch on board ship and set sail towards Kom Ombo. Later, a visit to Kom Ombo Temple, which is shared by the two Gods, Sobek and Horus. Set sail for Aswan.

Day 11: Nile Cruise Tours – Aswan – Phiale Temple – Unfinished Obelisk – High Dam

Your stay in Aswan begins with a tour of the High Dam.  A visit to the red stone quarries of ancient Egypt, to see the Unfinished Obelisk of Hatshepsut. You will then enjoy sailing in a felucca to the beautiful Temple of Philae, devoted to the two goddesses Isis and Hathor. Overnight onboard cruise ship.

Day 12: Aswan-Luxor

Disembark from your Nile cruise ship after breakfast. Have a chance to do a little shopping in the market before the transfer to Aswan train station for your 3-hour train ride to Luxor, upon arrival you will be transferred to your overnight Hotel and given your pick-up time for the drive to Airport.

Day 13: Luxor-Cairo

This morning you will be travelling back to Cairo.  Your options: of more shopping at the Khan El Khalili bazaar or a visit to the Coptic Cairo visit to the Hanging Church or just relaxing for the afternoon.

Day 14: Cairo-Airport

After checkout, you will be escorted to the airport and your flight home.
